This magnificent 1876 Colonial home had survived over a century of wear but needed extensive restoration to preserve its historical integrity and meet modern living standards. The owners, history lovers, were committed to saving original details like plaster moldings, wide-plank floors, and six-panel doors while adding a modern kitchen and updated systems for daily comfort.

We carefully restored every original element, from refinishing the heart pine floors to recreating missing plaster medallions by hand. A new rear addition houses a state-of-the-art kitchen with custom cabinetry that mimics period designs, while hidden modern appliances and smart controls keep the home running efficiently without sacrificing its antique soul.

History Honored At Every Turn

Original door hardware was restored, not replaced. Wallpapers were custom-printed to match 1870s patterns. Even the paint colors were historically researched. The home feels authentic, educational, and deeply respectful of its 140-year legacy.

Modern Kitchen Hidden In Addition

The new kitchen wing connects seamlessly to the main house through a glass breezeway. Inside, professional-grade appliances hide behind paneled cabinet fronts. The space functions like a 21st-century kitchen while looking like it belongs to the 19th century.
